CINCINNATI — There is currently an immediate need for people who are willing to train and deploy to areas affected by hurricanes, Red Cross communications and marketing director Martika Salkowski said in a statement Thursday evening.
More than 11,000 volunteers have deployed to multiple disaster regions across the country, including wildfires in the West and multiple hurricanes in the South, as many as three times during the summer months.
The current path of Hurricane Delta has it making landfall in the same area that is just beginning recovery efforts from Hurricane Laura.
People interested in volunteering should visit their website.
The Red Cross has a special need for people to support efforts sheltering those who had to relocate because of the natural disasters and for trained medical personnel.
They are looking for those able to volunteer for at least 14 days in between Oct. 8 and Dec. 1.
