CINCINNATI -- Five people were injured in a crash involving a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy Tuesday morning, according to Lt. David Daugherty.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, Dieumerci Dukuzumuremyi, 18, was turning north onto Linn Street around 8:30 a.m. when he struck a Hamilton County sheriff's truck, driven by Deputy Anthony Eduardo, 51.
The sheriff's truck was turned on its side after the crash. First responders cut off the top of the truck to rescue the deputy and three other people trapped inside, Daugherty said. All of the people in the deputy's truck had minor injuries.
Dukuzumuremyi also had minor injuries from the crash. First responders transported all five people to a hospital, Daugherty said.

Dukuzumuremyi was cited for improperly emerging from a driveway, but police don't think speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

Fire officials originally said six people were hurt, and one person was in critical condition. Officials later said five people were hurt and no one was in critical condition.
