CINCINNATI — A program director at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine was arrested Wednesday after he sent child pornography to undercover officers over the internet, according to authorities.
Investigators monitored John "Ned" Donnelly, 55, leading up to his arrest. Detectives said Donnelly sent undercover officers obscene images of young girls online and admitted to downloading and uploading child pornography, according to court documents.
Donnelly was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, both felonies. He is being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $10,000 bond.
Donnelly is an academic program director at the UC College of Medicine, according to the university's website. Donnelly has been placed on administrative leave, according to university spokesperson M.B. Reilly.
"The university yesterday learned that John Donnelly has been arrested at his home. Consistent with university policy, Donnelly has been placed on administrative leave," Reilly said in a statement.
The investigation into his internet activities is still ongoing.

The Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations section monitored Donnelly’s online activities. The task force, made up of investigators from the Cincinnati Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, investigates internet crimes against children. The investigation was in partnership with the nationwide Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
