CINCINNATI — Police identified the driver who was killed in a crash on River Road in Sayler Park Tuesday afternoon.

Charles Foust, 64, was driving a 2005 Ford F250 pickup truck and attempting to turn east onto River Road from Monitor Avenue when a westbound 1998 Freightliner Classic tractor-trailer struck Foust's truck, forcing him off the road into a grassy median, police said in a news release.

The impact sent the tractor-trailer over the center lines into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by an eastbound 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer.

Foust died at the scene, and a passenger riding with him was driven to University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition. Neither men had been wearing seat belts, police said.

The driver of the Freightliner suffered minor injuries and was driven to UC Medical Center in good condition. He also hadn't been wearing a seat belt, police said. The third driver was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.

Police said they had not yet determined whether excessive speed or impairment had been factors.

The Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash. Police asked any witnesses to call them at 513-352-2514.
