CINCINNATI - People gathered at Eden Park over the weekend for the 31st annual Juneteenth celebration.

It's a festival held to commemorate the end of slavery in the U.S.

The event features music, food and activities for the kids, including pony rides. It's also a chance for a history lesson, especially for the young.

"Once they understand better the history of this country, I think they can understand better where we are, how we got to where we are, and what we need to do to get away from where we are," said Lydia Morgan, festival coordinator.
