CINCINNATI -- Police are looking for the drivers who hit and killed a pedestrian on northbound Interstate 75 early Monday morning.
Douglas Kirkland, 51, entered the highway just before 4:30 a.m. between Hopple Street and Interstate 74 and laid down on the center lane, police said in a news release.
A box truck and a pickup truck both struck Kirkland, police said. Neither driver stopped.
A driver who was not involved in the crash saw the man in the road and stopped to block cars, according to Lt. Steve Saunders.
Kirkland suffered critical injuries and the Hamilton County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
The interstate was closed for about three hours.
Police asked any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
