CINCINNATI -- A man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after police say he was ejected from his motorcycle after it struck a moving vehicle and slid across the road into a parking lot.
Demetrius Dukes, 28, was operating a 1997 Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle when police say he struck Ronneil Rodgers, 41, driving a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 around 3:20 p.m. Sunday on Reading Road. Police said the crash occurred after Rodgers had switched lanes.
Dukes was ejected from the motorcycle, which slid across the road, into a parking lot and struck a parked 2013 Nissan Sentra, occupied by 26-year-old Shakiel Ford. Ford was not injured.
Dukes sustained serious injury and was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet.
Rodgers and his passenger, Yolanda Taylor, 38, were not injured.
Police said the crash is still under investigation and excessive speed appears to have been a factor.
Any witnesses are asked to call Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
