CINCINNATI -- The Tri-State's "judgment-free zone" is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Planet Fitness, the gym chain known as much for its free pizza and bagels as its rock-bottom prices, will build an $11 million facility -- its largest in the region -- at Oakley Station.

The 33,000-square-foot gym should open at the corner of Marburg Avenue and Vandercar Way by the end of the year. Among other features, it will have:

  • $1 million in equipment, including 120 pieces of state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment;
  • HydroMassage beds;
  • massage chairs;
  • tanning beds; and
  • locker rooms with luxury rain showers.

The chain promotes itself as a "judgment-free zone," where anyone can exercise without intimidation. It has free pizza on the first Monday of every month, and free bagels on the second Tuesday of every month -- as a reminder that an occasional treat is OK.

Memberships start at $10 a month. The Oakley location will be the 30th Planet Fitness location in the region.
