District Chief Warren Weems said one person was home at the time and that the male resident suffered from smoke inhalation and burns to his hands. That man was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Weems said the fire was difficult to fight because it spread up the walls and there were no "fire stops" to keep it from spreading.
A total of 64 firefighters were on the scene of the blaze and it took them close to 20 minutes to get the flames under control.
Firefighters estimated $150,000 worth of damage to the home, and crews on the scene said the home is currently unlivable due to the damage.
Five adults were displaced as a result of the fire and are being assisted by the local Red Cross.
