CINCINNATI — For hours on Sunday evening, police shut down the northbound lanes of I-75 just south of the I-74 split, near Hopple St., after a crash killed three people and injured two others, officials said.
Alice Richardson, 38, Natasha Moore, 38 and Erica Easley, 39, were all killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said the 40-year-old man driving the car struck the impact attenuator that separates I-75 from I-74 at the split. He and a woman in the back seat of the car were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where they are considered to be in serious condition.
CPD were called to the crash at roughly 6:31 p.m. Sunday evening, where they found a single car crashed on the highway.
Here’s what we can see from Monmouth Ave overpass. Besides emergency crews we can make out one dark colored sedan and a tractor trailer. @WCPO https://t.co/ptmd7p1fIs pic.twitter.com/xGLgksN7xp

Whether victims in the crash were wearing seatbelts is still unclear, CPD said, and they have not yet determined the cause of the crash or whether excessive speed or impairment played a part.
The highway has since reopened.
