CINCINNATI — The Hollywood Theatre is a College Hill jewel from the 1920s, but decline that started in the '90s has tasked present-day developers with taking what's old and making it new again.

Last night, the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation showed off potential revitalization options for the Hollywood Theatre to the community, including event spaces, Airbnbs, a food hall and apartments. Project leaders hope Thursday night’s recommendations will be useful for communities across the region -- especially for older downtown districts. Kevin Wright from Principal Yard and Company said they’re thinking about the area as a whole.

"We're also thinking about how to rethink the buildings around it, to influence what the theater becomes, and even how to rethink the parking lot here and how we use it for programming and events and things that can create demand for the theater and add vibrancy to the district over time so that the theater can become a better version of itself,” Wright said.

WCPO will continue to update this story with new developments from the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.
