Two charged in Mt. Washington shooting

CINCINNATI -- Police are have identified a second suspect in connection with a fatal early-morning shooting in Mt. Washington after a first suspect, 17, was arrested and charged with murder.

Police signed a murder warrant for the arrest of 21-year-old Darren Goodnight. Police said Goodnight frequents Mt. Washington, Price Hill and Louisville, Ky. He has not yet been detained by police.

The shooting was first reported at about 3 a.m. Friday near the corner of Corbly Road and Salvador Street. The attack happened near Beechmont Avenue.

 

Officers said the victim, Adam Stephens, 31, was found in the street when they arrived. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but doctors were unable to save him.

Several units were called to the scene and the area was cordoned off. Police reopened the intersection by about 6:30 a.m.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested the same day and charged. No other details have been released.
