Good Friday brings long-time Cincinnati traditions together

CINCINNATI - There is nothing more Cincinnati than Praying the Steps at Holy Cross-Immaculata Church in Mount Adams: the quiet, the prayers and families sharing a sacred tradition.

It has helped define Holy Week here for generations.

Then there’s Reds Opening Day: the excitement, the fun and families sharing a tradition passed down from one generation to the next.  

It was only by a fluke of the calendar and Mother Nature that these two very special Cincinnati traditions came together on the same day in 2018. And some hearty souls took part in both.
