CINCINNATI – A grand jury indicted a man who police said was found overdosed on heroin in his daughter’s hospital room earlier this month.
Wesley Landers was indicted on charges of having weapon while under disability, possession of heroin, possessing drug abuse instruments and carrying concealed weapons. Police said they found syringes and a loaded gun in Landers' pockets.
While Landers was treated and survived, MaryAnn Landers died from her overdose, also in their 7-month-old daughter’s room at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
The family, from Alabama, was in Cincinnati for the girl’s double-stage laryngotracheal reconstruction.
Police said that since the mother’s death and father’s arrest, the 7-month-old and her sister were being cared for by their grandparents.
