CINCINNATI -- We can now raise a glass to the zoo’s black rhino.
Listermann Brewing Company created a black IPA in honor of Kendi, the Cincinnati Zoo’s newest rhino baby.
Sales of the New-England style brew will help support the zoo’s rhino conservation efforts.
The brewery said they decided to make the beer after they sold out of their Fiona-inspired IPA in May. Listermann raised over $20,000 for Fiona, according to General Manager Jason Brewer.

“When Kendi was born, we knew we had to make a beer for him,” Brewer said.

Brewer said Kendi’s beer has a different flavor and color profile than Fiona’s brew.
“Kendi has big notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach and citrus,” he said.
The new IPA will be available for tasting Saturday, and four packs will be available for $14.99.
