CINCINNATI -- Ellie Richardson, the Lachey's manager who was shot in the face early Thanksgiving morning, "is no longer in the ICU and is progressing very well," according to a Facebook page dedicated to her recovery.
"She is able to communicate sparingly, drink water and consume soft foods," the most recent post reads. "The next steps are being discussed by the surgical team."
Richardson, 27, was leaving the restaurant when a person in a black van shouted at her. When she approached the vehicle, the shooter pulled the trigger.
"Ellie is the brightest light and she will find a way to shine through this darkness. Anyone with any information, help us find some justice," Nick Lachey said in a tweet after the incident.
A YouCaring account created to raise money for Richardson's medical expenses had raised nearly $46,000 by Monday night.
