CINCINNATI — Jefferson Social owner Jeremy Bowman died over the weekend due to COVID-19, the restaurant announced on social media Monday evening.

According to the post shared on Jefferson Social's Facebook page, 43-year-old Bowman died after a 15-day bout with coronavirus.

"Jeremy touched many lives in simple acts of love & strong personal friendships," read the post from Bill Bowman.

The former Jefferson Hall, once located along Main Street in Cincinnati and at Newport on the Levee, opened at The Banks in 2013.

"Jeremy Bowman has been part of the Jefferson Hall/Social family for over 20 years...Main Street to The Levee to The Banks. His jokes never got any better but he always brought a smile to your face," read the restaurant's post. "Jeremy passed away yesterday leaving a lot of people saddened and stunned. Jeremy is gone but not forgotten. We look forward to a day soon, when we can get together to share our favorite story. Stay Gold Little Buddy."

The family will hold a private funeral service due to coronavirus concerns.
