CINCINNATI -- Andrew Leurck loves rainbows. His mother, Kathy, said he draws at least one every day.
"When you were 8 and I came in and asked, 'Why are you making those rainbows?', and you said, 'When I'm asleep at night, you...'"
"Sit on Jesus' lap," Andrew replied.
The rainbow, he told his mother, was God's love.
Andrew's passion for rainbows started nearly a decade ago: At 17 years old, his obsession might be a bit unusual for people his age, but Andrew's no typical teenager.
He is developmentally delayed; he thinks like a 7-year-old. Kathy Leurck said her son makes friends everywhere he goes, handing them rainbows or his "card" telling them they're special.
His family realized he's maybe more evolved than they are.
The Leurcks have thousands of Andrew's rainbows at their Hyde Park home, so many they want to share his message with the world.
On Saturday, they'll wrap the outside of their home at 3608 Shaw Ave. with Andrew's rainbows and favorite sayings. Anyone's invited to stop by starting at 5 p.m.
