CINCINNATI — An upcoming film shoot will bring a half-dozen familiar, famous faces to the Queen City, including “Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo and Oscar-winning Genovian princess Anne Hathaway.
The pair are set to star in “Dry Run,” which Deadline reports will begin filming in Cincinnati next week. The film will center around the true story of Robert Bilott, an environmental lawyer who exposed the deadly impact of the DuPont corporation’s unregulated chemical dumping practices at end of the 20th century.
Bilott represented a rural West Virginian farmer who suspected a DuPont plant's landfill was responsible for killing his livestock. The suit eventually became an explosive battle over chemical pollution, bringing to light a decades-long cover-up by the company.
Director Todd Haynes, whose Queen City-shot love story “Carol” earned six Academy Award nominations in 2015, will helm the picture.
The cast will also include Victor Garber, Tim Robbins, Bill Pullman and Mare Winningham.
The shoot won’t be the first time Ruffalo has visited Greater Cincinnati. The actor posed for pictures with fans at Oriental Wok in Lakeside Park, Kentucky, in May 2018.
