CINCINNATI — In any normal year, the Freestore Foodbank's Hunger Walk would pack the streets in Cincinnati on Memorial Day, but 2020 is not a normal year, so the walk has gone virtual.

Usually, the walk raises about $200,000, but Trisha Rayner, the vice president of external affairs for the Freestore Foodbank, said the walk has only raised about $80,000 so far. With an increase in requests for assistance thanks to the pandemic, Rayner is urging people to get online and support the walk.

Since the Freestore Foodbank started the walk in 2004, it has raised more than $2 million, which is equal to about 6 million meals for those in need throughout the Tri-State.

You can learn more about the virtual walk and how to donate to the Freestore Foodbank by visiting their website here.
