CINCINNATI -- A driver is dead after crashing his car on the edge of Xavier University's campus Tuesday afternoon.
Police say 64-year-old Anthony Crooks was driving his 2001 Honda Accord northbound on Victory Parkway at about 3:15 p.m. when he went onto the sidewalk, crossed Dana Avenue and struck a tree next to Xavier's soccer field.
Crooks was wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred.
Crooks was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash. Any witnesses are asked to contact the police department's traffic unit at 513-352-2514.
