CINCINNATI -- Police have identified the man who was shot dead in Evanston early Tuesday morning.
First responders found Charles Leonard, 34, shot on a sidewalk near the intersection of Clarion Avenue and Montgomery Road at about 2:03 a.m., according to police officers on scene.
Leonard died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said.
Police have not yet released suspect information.
Investigators from the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit were on scene at about 6 a.m. Investigators towed a car from the scene.
The shooting is the 23rd fatal shooting in Cincinnati since May 30. It is the seventh fatal shooting this month.
