CINCINNATI -- A woman suffered a serious leg injury when a TANK bus hit her near a Downtown intersection Tuesday morning, according to police.
She was crossing Walnut Street along Fourth Street at about 8:20 a.m. That's just west of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky's Cincinnati ticket office
The bus driver hit her while making a left turn onto Walnut. Excessive speed and impairment are not factors in the crash, Cincinnati Police Sgt. Michael Machenheimer said.
"It appears that the pedestrian was in the crosswalk and had the right-of-way," Gina Douthat, TANK spokeswoman, said in a statement.
Looks like TANK bus was turning left onto Walnut. Still working on getting details. Busy time of day downtown. @WCPO pic.twitter.com/HtwuiMTfKm

Paramedics took the woman to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A tow truck removed the bus from the scene.
Douthat said TANK has placed the driver on leave. That person has been driving for TANK for 16 years, she said.
Cincinnati police closed the intersection for about two hours. They talked to witnesses and planned to review footage from nearby surveillance cameras.
