CINCINNATI — Plan ahead if you need to cross the Brent Spence Bridge or drive on I-71 through Downtown this weekend.

Pavement work requires the following lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday until approximately 4 p.m. Saturday:

  • The Fourth Street entrance ramp (Covington, Kentucky) and the right lane of northbound I-71/I-75 over the Brent Spence bridge will be closed. All I-71 traffic will be diverted to northbound I-75 to the Norwood Lateral and back to I-71.
  • The right two lanes of Fort Washington Way will be closed. Eastbound U.S. 50 will be open; however, there will be no access from northbound I-71/I-75.
  • The Fifth Street entrance ramp to NB I-71 will be closed. Traffic will be detoured north on Broadway to Seventh Street to the Gilbert Avenue entrance ramp.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the lane and ramp closures. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
