Man injured in shooting at Smale Park early Saturday

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Police said a man was injured in a Saturday morning shooting in Smale Park.

According to CPD, 23-year-old Jeremiah Hamilton was shot once in the groin at Joe Nuxhall Way and Merhing Way near the fountains around 4:00 a.m. Saturday. Police said Hamilton managed to walk up Joe Nuxhall Way before collapsing at Freedom Way. A passerby found Hamilton on the sidewalk and called 911 -- his injuries turned out to be non-life threatening.

Officials said officers from the Central Business District recovered shell casings from Smale Park.
