CINCINNATI -- A driver hit and killed a woman as she was crossing a busy Uptown intersection Monday.
The collision happened at about 10 a.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Eden Avenue. That's a major entrance to the University of Cincinnati's medical campus, which houses the College of Medicine, UC's Medical Center and other medical office buildings.
Lt. Brian Norris, commander of the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit, said the 26-year-old driver was turning from Eden onto eastbound Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Norris said the driver didn't see Kuei Mu, 68, in the crosswalk.
Mu had the right of way, police said in a news release. She had a serious head injury and was taken to the medical center for treatment, according to police spokesman Lt. Steve Saunders.
According to a coroner's report, she died later Monday.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. WCPO is not naming the driver because they have not been charged criminally.
The Traffic Unit is investigating. Police asked any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
