CINCINNATI — The Reds, Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden have picked Avondale for the 2020 Community Makeover.
“Our goal of the Community Makeover project is to reach every child and family in Avondale,” Charley Frank, executive director, Reds Community Fund, said. "And the timing is right for the Makeover to return to Avondale."
Avondale was previously selected for the 2013 Community Makeover.
There will be six project sites in Avondale for the latest Makeover. A few of the locations include Rockdale Academy and the Blair Ball Fields.
Volunteers will renovate, upgrade and improve facilities at the six sites. The projects are meant to promote healthy lifestyles through community activities.
The majority of the work is scheduled to take place on Aug. 6, but preliminary work will begin in the spring on a yet to be determined date.
