BURLINGTON, Ky. -- Several Tri-State communities spent Wednesday continuing to clean up debris and repair damage left behind by tornadoes the week before.
Ricky Chestnut’s home on Colby Court in Burlington was one of many nearby that were damaged after straight-line winds tore through the cul-de-sac, shearing off shingles and siding.
"Everything just went everywhere," Chestnut said.

Stacey Hammond found herself facing a similar situation 30 miles away in Anderson Township. When an EF0 hit her neighborhood, pine trees in her front yard snapped and flew through her daughter Stella’s bedroom.
By the storm’s end, the Hammond family was also dealing with a hole in their roof.
While she discusses the repairs with her insurance company, she said she was at least grateful none of her loved ones were hurt.
"We’re safe," Hammond said. “It was very scary, but we’re safe, so that’s all that matters."
