MOSCOW, Ohio — A Thursday night argument outside a Marathon gas station ended with one man shot in the neck and another fleeing the scene in a taxi, Clermont County deputies said.
The victim was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he has since been released. The suspect, 71-year-old Phillip Palmer, stands charged with felonious assault.
Two separate 911 calls summoned deputies to the scene shortly before 9. According to a news release from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department, the two men had been arguing when Palmer shot the victim.
He fled the gas station behind the wheel of a taxi, but New Richmond officers arrested him a short distance away.
Palmer, a veteran who owns a local taxi service, is being held in Clermont County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
