UNION TOWNSHIP (CLERMONT COUNTY), Ohio -- Three students and a driver were hospitalized after a vehicle hit the three in the parking lot at West Clermont High School Wednesday morning.
Lt. Anthony Rees said in a news release that Union Township police were dispatched to the school at about 8:37 a.m. for a report of crash involving injuries.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to Rees.
Scott Spicher, a school spokesman, said the driver was a grandparent dropping off a student. The three students who were hit were in a crosswalk and "were following what they were supposed to do," he said.
Staff members, including two school resource officers, were quick to react. Everyone involved is expected to be OK.
"You've got to be careful, especially during arrival and dismissal times on a school campus, on any school campus, but especially on a school campus as large as ours," Spicher said. "There's cars moving, students moving; you've got to be heads-up and watch what is going on."
