MILFORD, Ohio — Milford Exempted Village School District needs an extra week to prepare for the start of the academic year, superintendent John Spieser announced Friday.
All students — both those attending online and in-person classes — will begin Aug. 31, not Aug. 24 as originally scheduled.
“Our entire staff has been working diligently to open school, but with the challenges COVID presents, some things have proven to need more time than estimated,” Spieser wrote in a letter to families. “Things we thought would come together have not yet, and we need the additional time.”
The extra week will allow the district to finalize its students’ schedules and its drivers’ bus routes, he said.
Athletics and other extracurriculars are not affected by the change.
