BATAVIA, Ohio — A former Bethel-Tate High School coach sexually abused one of his players for more than six years, according to Clermont County prosecutors.

Forty-one-year-old Chad Wilhoff, who coached basketball, soccer and track at Bethel-Tate, stands charged with 10 separate sex crimes, all felonies: One count of gross sexual imposition, three counts of sexual battery and six counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Clermont County Assistant Prosecutor Scott O’Reilly said the charges stem from Wilhoff’s relationship with one victim, a girl whom he began to abuse when she was 12 years old.

Court documents indicate the abuse started in 2002 and continued until after the girl’s 18th birthday. Wilhoff had been her coach for part of that time.

O’Reilly said his office will investigate the possibility that Wilhoff had other victims.

Editor's note: In accordance with our mug shot policy, WCPO is using Wilhoff's mug shot because prosecutors suspect he could have additional victims.
