BETHEL, Ohio — Ellie, the dog that went missing after a deadly crash in Brown County, was found on Tuesday, according to family friends who were involved in the search.

No one has seen Ellie since the evening of Nov. 28 when three people were killed in a single vehicle crash on Bethel New Hope Road. The dog belonged to one of the three crash victims, 10-year-old Cameron Moler. Robert Moler, 83, and Nicholas Moler, 33, also died.

Volunteers were determined to find Ellie, who survived the crash but escaped when first responders arrived at the scene.

The dog was located in Bethel. Family friend Candace Merlino tells WCPO that a woman lured Ellie with a cheeseburger and called authorities.

Cameron Moler was a fourth-grader at Kilgour Elementary.

Police said alcohol and speed were suspected contributors to the crash. Neither of the adults had been wearing a seatbelt. In a news release, troopers identified Nicholas Moler as the driver.
