SILVER GROVE, Ky. -- Silver Grove Independent Schools is having its last-ever last day of school Thursday.
The school, comprised of about 200 students, will close its doors after the school board voted in February to merge with Campbell County Schools.
The school's building is an elementary school, middle school and high school in one located at 101 W. 3rd Street. Officials will decide the fate of the building in a July 1 Campbell County Board of Education meeting.
Superintendent Jim Palm said 50 percent of the district's teachers have found employment outside the district. The other 50 percent are still looking for employment.
Palm said the school will have a carnival to celebrate the end of the year so that "students can end on a good note.”
