NEWPORT, Ky. — Sunday's early morning storms caused power outages to much of Newport on the Levee and closed the Newport Aquarium for the day.
Newport on the Levee lost power as a result of the storm, but power has since been restored and the levee is open.
UPDATE: Power is BACK ON, everyone will be open today except for @NewportAquarium . Thank you @DukeEnergy for getting the power back on!

The Newport Aquarium lost power this morning also. The aquarium's backup generators were working though so the safety of the animals was not at risk. However, it will remain closed at least for the day until their power is fully restored.
Newport Aquarium is CLOSED for the day due to a power outage. All backup generators are working and our animals are safe.
