NEWPORT, Ky. -- A Newport on the Levee staple is closing.
Bar Louie, a restaurant and bar that boasted views of the river and Cincinnati skyline, will close after 17 years.
The restaurant joins Mitchell’s Fish Market in the list of the levee’s eateries that have closed this year. The seafood restaurant had been a mainstay of Newport on the Levee and opened as part of the development’s initial roster in 2001.
The Cincinnati-based North American Properties closed on its purchase of Newport on the Levee in December. At the time of the sale, the company said it planned to invest more than $100 million in the 360,000-square-foot mixed-use property.
