FT. WRIGHT, Ky. -- A man who worked as a school bus driver in Kenton County for nearly four years was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography in Campbell County, according to a school spokeswoman.

Derrick Becker was asked to resign in November shortly after he was charged, Kenton County School District spokeswoman Jess Dykes said Friday. She said he did resign as the district requested.

Between May 2011 and November 2015, Becker drove bus routes for Ryland Heights Elementary School, Woodland Middle School Scott High School, Dykes said. However, she said his criminal case doesn't appear to have ties to the schools.

"We are unaware of any criminal investigation in the Kenton County area, but all questions furthermore after this will have to go to the Campbell County investigators," Dykes said.

Pam Andrew, who has two children riding Kenton County school buses, said she's always looking out for her kids' safety, like any other parent. But she also hopes investigators have "absolute proof" on the allegations.

"I mean, you don't want somebody to go through all of this and then they have it wrong, because he's going to have a stigma attached to his name forever," she said. "But I want them to have done something about it right away because my first thought would be for my children."

WCPO has contacted police and prosecutors in Campbell County for documents and more details. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
