WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Three people, including a 2-year-old, died Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash on Jacksonburg Road.
The Butler County Coroner identified two of the victims as 25-year-old Alexa Renea Perry and 2-year-old Daxton L. Perry. Alexa Perry died at the scene. First responders transported the boy to Liberty Children's Hospital, where he died.
Butler County officials reported two deaths in the immediate aftermath of the 2:30 crash, which involved a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles. The Seven Mile Life Squad and Fire Department — one of five local emergency agencies involved in the response — reported a third casualty late Friday night.
According to the Journal-News, the intersection at which the crash occurred is among the most dangerous in Ohio. Township trustees plan to install a roundabout by August 2020 to reduce crashes.
