WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A man who had been recorded peeping into a 17-year-old girl's bedroom was arrested Wednesday night, according to a news release from the Clermont County Prosecutor's Office.
Ernest Smith, 44, faces charges of voyeurism and possession of criminal tools in connection to the Sunday evening incident.
In a 911 call, the girl's father said his home security system recorded a stranger standing on a stool and peering through his daughter's bedroom window. He chased the man away but could not identify him or record the license plate number of the car in which the stranger fled.
"Oh my god, there's a car, he's in a car, he was parked in my neighbor's driveway," another witness said in a separate call to 911. "I see him! He's flying down the road in a car!"
According to police, the man had been "exposed" and pleasuring himself while he looked in the window.
Smith was arrested in Tennessee in 2016 on charges related to exposing himself to his girlfriend’s daughter. A fight ensued, and Smith was charged with aggravated assault and indecent exposure, court records say.
A judge issued a $50,000 bond and a protection order for the family on Thursday. Smith is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 5.
