REILY TWP., Ohio — According to a release sent by the Butler County Sheriff's Office, a 13-year-old was killed in a vehicle crash in Reily Twp. Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said the teen was a passenger in a silver Hyndai backing out of a private drive on Hamilton Scipio Road, when they failed to yield to oncoming traffic and were struck.
John McClure of Hamilton, Ohio was driving a GMC Sierra truck down Hamilton Scipio Rd., and hit the side of the Hyundai as it backed out of the drive. The 18-year-old driver of the Hyundai was transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but the 13-year-old passenger was killed in the crash.
There have been no charges filed, and the Butler County Sheriff's Office said the investigation is still pending.
