MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Trains moving through the city have killed at least four people in separate incidents since 1970.
The latest one happened Sunday when a person was killed between Manchester and Wildwood, dispatch said. No other details have been released.
Three other fatal encounters have been reported since 2010:
On Nov. 12, 2017, 31-year-old Christopher Russell was killed near Jewell Avenue and Whittier Street.
On July 28, 2015, a woman drove a church van into a moving train on 14th Street, killing the front-seat passenger, 62-year-old Janice Martin, and injuring nine children. The driver, Judith Ashley, was sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison.
On July 12, 2010, a 44-year-old man was killed on Wildwood Road. Police said Jerry Freeze was lying on the tracks as the train approached and did not try to escape.
