Officers made efforts to arrest the accused last week, which resulted in nine arrests, according to Middletown Police Sgt. Jamie Wilcox of the department’s Special Operations Unit. Three others were already incarcerated at the Butler County Jail, he said.
In addition, during the arrests, more firearms were seized as well as large amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.
“This is just an extension of the incredible work the team did over the last year in their arrests of major felony drug traffickers, including drug cartels out of Mexico,” said Middletown Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw. “This particular sweep was focused more on the users. Our officers and investigators never let up and will continue to come at them every day as relentless as possible.”
Police encouraged others who had been indicted but not yet arrested to turn themselves in at the Middletown Police Department or Butler County Jail.
