MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- All but one cat survived a massive rescue mission in Middletown on Monday.
Volunteers from Joseph's Legacy animal rescue said they rescued 17 Persian cats on Monday, many who are diseased and injured. One cat was missing an eye, according to the animal rescue's Facebook page.
The oldest cat, aged 15 years, was "not able to go through any treatment" for emaciated and abscessed wounds, worms and fleas, the post said.
