MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – A fast-acting man helped police track down a stolen truck and the alleged thief.
The owner left the 1987 Chevy Silverado running while he ran into his house to get his phone. That was enough time for the thief – identified by police as 26-year-old Christopher McIntosh – to strike.
However, a neighbor witnessed the theft. Someone had broken into Jeremy Caudill’s car the night before and stolen his radio. He spotted a man he’d never seen before take off in his neighbor’s truck.
Wearing only pajamas and no shoes, Caudill jumped in own car and took off after the thief while calling 911.
“I know if it happened to me, he’d do the same thing,” Caudill said.
The call helped Middletown police officers track down the stolen vehicle and the suspect, just a few miles away.
