CINCINNATI -- Middletown native Kyle Schwarber, who helped the Chicago Cubs win the World Series for the first time in more than a century last year, debuted with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa Monday night.
The step down seems to be timed perfectly for the release of his new Gatorade ad Tuesday. The commercial features some of the most successful professional athletes -- like Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning and Serena Williams -- speaking about difficulties they have faced during their careers.
"Make defeat your fuel," the commercial's narrator concludes.

In Schwarber's part, he references the Cubs' long streak without winning a championship.
"...spend 108 years as a local loser," he says to the camera, with Cubs fans seen out a car window behind him.
