LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to the Butler County sheriff.
Sheriff Richard Jones said in a news release late Tuesday that emergency crews reported to the area of Millikin and Lesourdsville-West Chester in Liberty Township, where they found a woman, who appeared to be jogging at the time, had been struck by a motorist.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m., according to Jones.
Initial investigations showed that the woman appeared to be crossing the street at the time of the collision, Jones said. The woman was in a crosswalk.
The driver remained on scene until emergency crews arrived, Jones said. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.
Jones did not release the names of those involved, pending family notification and any possible charges that might be filed against the driver. Jones did not indicate what those charges would be, if filed.
