CINCINNATI — Many schools canceled their prom in 2020 due to the pandemic, but now a local company is helping to get high school girls ready for their prom this year.
Cinderella's Closet is a prom dress shop which offers free dresses to local girls. Usually, the shop is open for one weekend a year at a location like Crossroads Church, and normally they help about 250 girls get dresses, shoes and other accessories.
This year, though, the shop will be open at the former Charlotte Russe store at Liberty Center every Thursday and Saturday in March. With this extended time frame and larger shop space, they hope to help the same number of young girls get ready for their prom.
"Even if you don't get to go to a physical prom, you can still come to Cinderella's Closet and have the experience of shopping for prom and getting all dressed up," Sara Mosteller, of Cinderella's Closet of Southwest Ohio, said. "Then you get to go home and keep this beautiful dress, and we want the girls to keep them."
If you know a girl who is looking for a prom dress, they can register to shop with Cinderella's Closet here, and if you'd like to volunteer to help the shop, you can sign up here.
