2 men face charges in Hamilton high speed chase

Posted

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Two men are facing charges after an overnight police chase that reached speeds of 100 mph.

The incident started with an attempted burglary in Hamilton.

New Miami investigators said the homeowners came home to find two men inside their home. The burglars then took off in a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup.

Officers tried to stop the truck near Sipps and B streets on a traffic violation. At the time, police didn’t know about the burglary.

The chase went for 30 miles through Sinclair Township back to New Miami and into Hamilton before the driver struck a tree at Stateline and Heard roads.

Both men were taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital with minor injuries. At least one of the men -- Cameron Trimboli -- was booked into the Butler County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding police, burglary and other traffic violations.

Charges are pending against Trimboli’s passenger.

Investigators said several items were recovered from the truck. Several agencies were involved in the case, including a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

No other details have been released.
