HAMILTON, Ohio -- What police believed to be a hostage situation at a Fairfield Township home ended in SWAT making a "dynamic entry" to find no one inside, according to Maj. Mike Craft.

Authorities believed someone had taken a person hostage in the home in the 1800 block of Pater Avenue Sunday afternoon, Craft said. Capt. Doug Lanier said the two people in the house fled at some point.

"We made a dynamic entry. There were no subjects inside the house at all," Craft said.
"We have cleared the scene at this time. It’s a good resolve. Nobody was injured. No officers were injured."

Police responded to a domestic incident at about 2 p.m. The SWAT team was called in at about 3:26 p.m., according to Butler County dispatch.

The incident is under investigation.
