HAMILTON, Ohio — Brian Ernest knew his sister, Angela Powers, had problems -- heroin, pills, a minor arrest -- before her disappearance in 2017, he said Thursday night. He spent more than a year certain something terrible had happened to her.
Hamilton police discovered Powers’ body in the trunk of a car Dec. 7. According to a news release, another woman had “unwittingly transported” the body to Springfield Township.
Investigators could not immediately identify how Powers died.
“I loved her,” Ernest said. “She always came by, and we helped her. Most people in the family wouldn't help her, but she came here.”
She would have celebrated her 40th birthday Tuesday.
